cable device<br />

To configure access list for a CM device or host, use the cable device command in privileged EXEC<br />

mode. To remove an access group, use the no access-group option of this command.<br />

cable device {ip-address | mac-address} [no] access-group {access-list | access-name} |<br />

{[vrf vrf-name] ip-address [no] access-group [access-list | access-name]}<br />

Note The cable device command is not supported on the <strong>Cisco</strong> uBR10012 universal broadband router.<br />

ip-address IP address for the device.<br />

mac-address MAC address for the device.<br />

access-group Enables access-group options. The no form removes access-group<br />

specifications.<br />

access-list | access-name Specifies the IP access list (standard or extended), either by<br />

access-list number (1 to 199) or by access-list name.<br />

vrf vrf-name Specifies routing and forwarding instance that is populated with<br />

Virtual Private Network (VPN) routes. The vrf-name argument<br />

specifies the name for the virtual route forwarding instance.<br />

12.1(1a)T1 The vrf keyword was added for Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)<br />

VPN support.<br />

Note The vrf keyword is not supported on the 12.0 SC, 12.1 EC and<br />

12.2 BC releases.<br />

Usage <strong>Guide</strong>lines For the virtual route forwarding (VRF) syntax of this command, only the IP address option is supported.<br />

Examples The following example shows how to assign an access list to the MAC address of a cable device:<br />

Router# configure terminal<br />

Router(config)# cable device 0010.7b6b.77ed acc 1<br />

Router(config)# exit<br />
