Field Description<br />

Interface Identifies the interface or subinterface.<br />

Status Displays the status of the interface:<br />

Administ—The interface has been shut down and is in the<br />

administrative down state.<br />

Deleted—The subinterface has been removed from the router’s<br />

configuration.<br />

Down—The interface is down because of a cable or other connectivity<br />

problem.<br />

Initiali—The interface is in the process of initializing.<br />

Reset—The interface is currently being reset.<br />

ICB<br />

Up—The interface is up and passing traffic.<br />

Displays the Interface Control Block (ICB) that is mapped to this interface.<br />

MAC Domain Displays the DOCSIS-layer domain for this interface or subinterface.<br />

WQB_ID Displays the Work Queue Block (WQB) identifier for this interface.<br />

Fwding Displays whether traffic is being forwarded (PXF) or not (disable).<br />

Encap Identifies the type of encapsulation being used on the interface. The most<br />

common types of encapsulation are:<br />

0 = None<br />

1 = Ethernet ARPA<br />

2 = Ethernet SAP<br />

3 = 802.2 SNAP<br />

5 = Serial, raw HDLC<br />

8 = Serial, LAPB<br />

9 = Serial, X.25<br />

20 = Frame Relay<br />

21 = SMDS<br />

22 = MAC level packets<br />

27 = LLC 2<br />

28 = Serial, SDLC (primary)<br />

30 = Async SLIP encapsulation<br />

33 = ATM interface<br />

35 = Frame Relay with IETF encapsulation<br />

42 = Dialer encapsulation<br />

46 = Loopback interface<br />

51 = ISDN Q.921<br />

59 = DOCSIS (previously known as MCNS)<br />

61 = Transparent Mode<br />

62 = TDM clear channel<br />

64 = PPP over Frame Relay<br />

65 = IEEE 802.1Q<br />

67 = LAPB terminal adapter<br />

68 = DOCSIS <strong>Cable</strong> Modem<br />
