2.3 Dynamics <strong>of</strong> Self-organization
The work <strong>of</strong> Heylighen (2001) and Andriani (2005) are valuable understanding <strong>the</strong> emergence <strong>of</strong> new
structure and adaptability in a dynamic environment. For examples, organization has option to control
with <strong>the</strong> importance <strong>of</strong> continual adaptation to a changing environment (Heylighen 2001), moreover
organization ensures that new structure emerge in a consistent way and <strong>the</strong>n achieves <strong>the</strong> benefits
associated with effective operation. In <strong>the</strong> current competitive environment coupled with <strong>the</strong> ever
changing environmental enterprise scene, <strong>the</strong> need for organizational change demands better
business processes and specially <strong>the</strong> social behavior which require sensitive assessment <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir
impact on overall performance. However, <strong>the</strong> implications <strong>of</strong> adopting <strong>the</strong> new perspective models as
a management <strong>of</strong> system evolution are fragmentally addressed.
Design method for dynamic organization is a better approach to provide improvement in organization.
Research needs more emphasis on exploring and investigating new framework to evaluate design
model and show that it is more appropriate than using existing modeling method to identify <strong>the</strong> new
characteristics. In fact, social behavioral perspective is <strong>the</strong> main element <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> complex processes
modeling and it evolves toward collaboration.
Leading researchers in IS emphasized <strong>the</strong> significance <strong>of</strong> self-organization (Arthur et al. 2001;
Andriani 2005; Heylighen 2008). On <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r hand, a model to capture <strong>the</strong> emergent dynamics <strong>of</strong>
complex system is difficult and almost impossible to use traditional methodologies to analyze <strong>the</strong>
complex issues. In practice, adaptive strategies are required for sensing change in <strong>the</strong> environment
and <strong>the</strong> significance <strong>of</strong> diversity and self-organization.
3. Researh question and hypo<strong>the</strong>sis
This study seeks to address a central research question. Apart from <strong>the</strong> main question, <strong>the</strong>
subsequent sets <strong>of</strong> research hypo<strong>the</strong>ses were formulated to act as guiding questions throughout <strong>the</strong>
exploratory studies as following:
“Does a multiple perspectives framework improve <strong>the</strong> ability to manage change in
complex processes? “
Hypo<strong>the</strong>ses:
This research focuses on multi perspective modeling derived from <strong>the</strong> literature and <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>oretical
foundations. The paper will test specific hypo<strong>the</strong>ses to address <strong>the</strong> research questions.
The proposed model is meant to identify <strong>the</strong> information flow in unforeseen
circumstances by measuring <strong>the</strong> user satisfaction. Therefore:
H1: Multi perspective model will help to identify knowledge flow for better decision
making.
The proposed model enables users to understand what to do in <strong>the</strong> unlikely event <strong>of</strong>
unforeseen circumstances by measuring <strong>the</strong> reliability <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> model. Hence:
H2: The model helps organization to learn how to discover knowledge.
A multi perspective model will support users to facilitate <strong>the</strong> changes and collaboration to
unforeseen circumstances by measuring <strong>the</strong> adaptability <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> model. Thus:
H3: Knowledge flow in organizations is influenced by significant change.
A multi perspective model will enhance <strong>the</strong> development <strong>of</strong> better relationships among stakeholders
and improve responsiveness to unforeseen circumstances by measuring <strong>the</strong> responsiveness <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>
model. Therefore:
H4: The organization will respond to unforeseen circumstances needed for better
knowledge flow.
4. Approach and objective
System design framework is recognized prior to modeling a complex system at various points in <strong>the</strong>
organization's development and in managing system evolution. However, <strong>the</strong> framework would not
succeed without <strong>the</strong> full understanding <strong>of</strong> significant change across <strong>the</strong> organizations. The research
question rises as to whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> model based on a multi perspective approach allows an easier
management <strong>of</strong> system evolution. To illustrate this, we propose an approach that <strong>the</strong> modeling <strong>of</strong>
