4-4-2 Switch Settings<br />

Indicator Status Meaning<br />

IN/OUT (red) ON An error has occurred with an Output Slave.<br />

OFF An error has occurred with an Input Slave or all Slaves<br />

are operating normally.<br />

8421 (red) ON/OFF These indicators represent the four-digit binary slave<br />

number of the Slave in which the error occurred.<br />

DIP Switch<br />

The DIP switch is used to make the PLC word allocation setting and the number<br />

of points/unit number setting.<br />

Reserved (Always OFF.)<br />

PLC word allocation setting<br />

Set the PLC word allocations with pins 1 and 2, as shown in the following<br />

table. This is the total number of words allocated to Slaves in the PLC.<br />

OFF OFF 2 words (1 input word, 1 output word)<br />

ON OFF 4 words (2 input words, 2 output words)<br />

OFF ON 8 words (4 input words, 4 output words)<br />

ON ON<br />

The Master Unit is shipped with pins 1 and 2 set to OFF (2 words).<br />

Word addresses are allocated separately for inputs and outputs. The<br />

words are allocated in order from the left of the PLC to the right, just like<br />

regular I/O Units.<br />

Note Always turn OFF the PLC’s Power Supply before changing the setting.<br />

!Caution Always set pin numbers 5 to 6 of the DIP switch to OFF.<br />

Set the number of points/unit number with pin 3, as shown in the following<br />

table.<br />
