Indicators<br />

The following table shows the meaning of the indicators.<br />

Indicator Status Meaning<br />

RUN (green) ON The Unit is operating normally.<br />

OFF Indicates one of the following conditions:<br />

The power is OFF, there is an I/O setting error, the CPU<br />

Unit is in standby status, or there is a unit number setting<br />

error.<br />

SD (yellow) ON Data is being transmitted.<br />

OFF Data is not being transmitted.<br />

RD (yellow) ON Data is being received.<br />

OFF Data is not being received.<br />

ERC (red) ON A Slave has been withdrawn from communications.<br />

(Communications error)<br />

OFF The Slaves are communicating normally.<br />

IN/OUT (red) ON An error has occurred with an Output Slave.<br />

OFF An error has occurred with an Input Slave or all Slaves<br />

are operating normally.<br />

8421 (red) ON/OFF These indicators represent the four-digit binary slave<br />

number of the Slave in which the error occurred.<br />

Rotary Switch The Master Unit’s unit number (Special I/O Unit’s unit number) is set with the<br />

rotary switch on the front of the Unit.<br />

Any unit number in the ranges above can be set, as long as the same unit<br />

number has not been set on another Special I/O Unit mounted in the PLC. Set<br />

the unit number with a small flat-blade screwdriver, being careful not to damage<br />

the switch.
