If the communications modes are not the same, normal communications with the Master Unit will not be possible. The operating status of the Slave can be verified with LED indicators. Refer to 6-5-1 Indicators. Hold/Clear Outputs for Communications Error Pin 8 is used to set the output data status when a communications error occurs, as shown in the following table.
