5.7.7 Replacing CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE
To replace the CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE Communication Interface PCI-
Express handle as follows:
1. Fix front plate sticker.
‣ Use the sticker according to the firmware and glue it on the front of the
replacement CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE (see section Fix Front Plate
Sticker at CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE on page 96).
2. Set Slot Number (Card ID).
Important! Set at the replacement CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE the same Slot
Number (Card ID) as at the previous CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE Communication
Interface (see section PCI and PCI Express: Setting Slot Number
(Card ID) on page 67).
3. Take safety precautions.
Lethal Electrical Shock caused by parts with more than 50V!
• Disconnect the power plug of the PC or of the connecting device.
• Make sure, that the power supply is off at the PC or at the connecting
device.
4. Remove the connecting cable to the Master or Slave.
‣ Remove the connecting cable between the CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE
Communication Interface to be replaced and the PC card Real-Time
Ethernet Master or Slave.
5. Open cabinet.
‣ Open the cabinet of the PC or of the connecting device.
6. Deinstall CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE Communication Interface.
‣ Loosen the CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE.
‣ Remove the CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE from the PCI express slot.
7. Install replacement CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE.
‣ Plug the replacement CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE into the vacated express
slot.
‣ Fix the replacement CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE using the hole intended.
