5.5.3 Installing CIFX 80-RE<br />
To install the CIFX 80-RE <strong>Communication</strong> Interface Compact PCI handle<br />
as follows:<br />
1. Fix front plate sticker.<br />
‣ Use the sticker according to the firmware and glue it on the front of the<br />
CIFX 80-RE <strong>Communication</strong> Interface (see section Fix Front Plate<br />
Sticker at CIFX 80-RE on page 78).<br />
2. Take safety precautions.<br />
Lethal Electrical Shock caused by parts with more than 50V!<br />
• Disconnect the power plug of the PC or of the connecting device.<br />
• Make sure, that the power supply is off at the PC or at the connecting<br />
device.<br />
3. Open cabinet.<br />
‣ Open the cabinet of the PC or of the connecting device.<br />
4. Install CIFX 80-RE <strong>Communication</strong> Interface.<br />
‣ Possibly remove a blank plate.<br />
‣ Put down the ejection lever at the CIFX 80-RE.<br />
‣ Plug the CIFX 80-RE into a free compact PCI slot.<br />
‣ Fasten the CIFX 80-RE.<br />
‣ Tip up the lever and click in.<br />
‣ Screw the CIFX 80-RE with two screws on the wholes above and<br />
below.<br />
After this:<br />
5. Close cabinet.<br />
‣ Close the cabinet of the PC or connecting device.<br />
6. Plug the connecting cable to the Master or Slave.<br />
Important! When using <strong>Ethernet</strong> TCP/UDP/IP, EtherNet/IP or Modbus<br />
TCP at 10 MBit/s use only switches or 10/100 MBit/s dual-speed hubs and<br />
ensure that the network operates at 100 MBit/s and in full-duplex mode.<br />

Mode and Workaround on page 199.<br />
Note: The RJ45 socket is only for use in LAN, not for telecommuni-cation<br />
circuits. For further information refer to section <strong>Ethernet</strong> Interface on page<br />
219.<br />
‣ Plug the connecting cable from the CIFX 80-RE <strong>Communication</strong><br />
Interface to the PC card <strong>Real</strong>-<strong>Time</strong> <strong>Ethernet</strong> Master or Slave.<br />
