2.8 Property Damage Messages
To avoid property damage respectively device destruction to the PC card
(cifX Communication Interface) and to your system, you necessarily must
read, understand and follow the following and all other property damage
messages in this manual, before you install and operate your PC card.
2.8.1 Device Destruction by exceeding allowed Supply Voltage
Adhere for all cifX Communication Interfaces described in this manual the
instruction hereafter:
NOTICE
Device Destruction!
• Use only the mandatory supply voltage to operate the cifX Communication
Interface.
• Operating the cifX with a supply voltage above of the specified range
leads to device destruction.
USA:
Device Destruction!
• Use only the mandatory supply voltage to operate the cifX Communication
Interface.
• Operating the cifX with a supply voltage above of the specified range
leads to device destruction.
The cifX Communication Interface may only be operated with the specified
supply voltage. Make sure that the limits of the allowed range for the supply
voltage are not exceeded. A supply voltage above the upper limit can
cause severe damage to the cifX Communication Interface! A supply
voltage below the lower limit can cause malfunction in the cifX
Communication Interface. The allowed range for the supply voltage is
defined by the tolerances specified in this manual.
For the PC cards listed hereafter adhere specifically: The cifX
Communication Interface
• CIFX 50-RE
• CIFX 50E-RE
• CIFX 80-RE
• CIFX 90-RE\F
• CIFX 90E-RE\F
• CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE
may not be powered by a 5V supply voltage! The cifX Communication
Interface may only be powered by a 3.3 V ±5 % supply voltage.
The data on the mandatory supply voltage for the cifX Communication
Interfaces described in this manual you find in the section Supply Voltage
and Signal Voltage on page 44. There the required and permitted supply
voltage is provided by device type inclusively the permitted tolerance
range.
