9.6 Rotary Switch for Slot Number (Card ID)<br />

Only for: CIFX 50-RE, CIFX 50E-RE and CIFX 100EH-RE\CUBE.<br />

The Rotary Switch Slot Number (Card ID) serves to set the Slot Number<br />

(Card ID) of the <strong>cifX</strong> <strong>Communication</strong> <strong>Interfaces</strong>.<br />

The Slot Number (Card ID) serves to distinguish <strong>cifX</strong> <strong>Communication</strong><br />

<strong>Interfaces</strong> from each other clearly, especially if more <strong>cifX</strong> <strong>Communication</strong><br />

<strong>Interfaces</strong> are installed into the very same PC.<br />

The <strong>cifX</strong> Device Driver up to version 0.94x identifies <strong>cifX</strong> <strong>Communication</strong><br />

<strong>Interfaces</strong> via its device and serial number. For the device exchange<br />

service respectively a manual intervention is required.<br />

The <strong>cifX</strong> Device Driver from version 0.950 on identifies <strong>cifX</strong><br />

<strong>Communication</strong> <strong>Interfaces</strong> alternatively via its Slot Number (Card ID).<br />

Meaning<br />

Position<br />

0 The value 0 means:<br />

• no Slot Number (Card ID), i. e. the Slot Number (Card ID) is not<br />

used,<br />

• for downwards compatibility purposes,<br />

• characterizes <strong>cifX</strong> <strong>Communication</strong> <strong>Interfaces</strong> not equipped with a<br />

Rotary Switch Slot Number (Card ID);<br />

i. e. these <strong>cifX</strong> <strong>Communication</strong> <strong>Interfaces</strong> are identified via its device<br />

and serial number.<br />

1 … 9 corresponds to the Slot Number (Card ID) 1 … 9<br />
