5.12.3 Installing CIFX 104-RE\F and CIFX 104-RE-R\F
To install the
• CIFX 104-RE\F Communication Interface PC/104(„\F“) and
• CIFX 104-RE-R\F Communication Interface PC/104(„\F“)
handle as follows:
1. Configure starting address, interrupt and data bus width of the CIFX
104-RE\F Communication Interface.
‣ Configure the start address of the CIFX 104-RE\F.
‣ If you are using the interrupt mode, set up a free interrupt on the CIFX
104-RE\F.
For polling operation mode interrupt jumpers are not required.
Note: Several CIFX 104-RE\F Communication Interfaces can be plugged
as modules one upon the other. For each CIFX 104-RE\F Communication
Interface you must define a free memory area of 16 KByte.
For further information on the starting address and or an interrupt (or
polling) refer to section cifX PC/104: Set Starting Address and Interrupt on
page 124.
‣ Depending by the target system (motherboard), if so, set at the CIFX
104-RE\F a Data Bus Width of 8 bit or 16 bit.
By default the jumper is set for a data bus width of 16 Bit (refer to section
Device Drawing CIFX 104-RE\F on page 133 and Device Drawing CIFX
104-RE-R\F on page 134).
2. Take safety precautions.
Lethal Electrical Shock caused by parts with more than 50V!
• Disconnect the power plug of the PC or of the connecting device.
• Make sure, that the power supply is off at the PC or at the connecting
device.
3. Open cabinet.
‣ Open the cabinet of the PC or of the connecting device.
Note: If several CIFX 104-RE\F Communication Interfaces are to be put
together as modules in a stack:
(a) Install the first cifX on the mainboard.
(b) Connect the AIFX-RE or the AIFX-DIAG to the cifX.
(e) Connect any other module in the same way (as a and b).
