5.5.5 Replacing CIFX 80-RE
To replace the CIFX 80-RE Communication Interface Compact PCI handle
as follows:
1. Fix front plate sticker.
‣ Use the sticker according to the firmware and glue it on the front of the
replacement CIFX 80-RE (see section Fix Front Plate Sticker at CIFX
80-RE on page 78).
2. Take safety precautions.
Lethal Electrical Shock caused by parts with more than 50V!
• Disconnect the power plug of the PC or of the connecting device.
• Make sure, that the power supply is off at the PC or at the connecting
device.
3. Remove the connecting cable to the Master or Slave.
‣ Remove the connecting cable between the CIFX 80-RE Communication
Interface to be replaced and the PC card Real-Time Ethernet Master or
Slave.
4. Open cabinet.
‣ Open the cabinet of the PC or of the connecting device.
5. Deinstall CIFX 80-RE Communication Interface.
‣ Unscrew the CIFX 80-RE.
‣ First press the grey button at the ejection lever.
‣ Then press the ejection lever downwards.
‣ Remove the CIFX 80-RE from the compact PCI slot.
6. Install replacement CIFX 80-RE.
‣ Put down the ejection lever at the replacement CIFX 80-RE.
‣ Plug the replacement CIFX 80-RE into the vacated compact PCI slot.
‣ Fasten the replacement CIFX 80-RE.
‣ Tip up the lever and click in.
‣ Screw the replacement CIFX 80-RE with two screws on the wholes
above and below.
