• The downloadable <strong>cifX</strong> firmware runs on <strong>cifX</strong> <strong>Communication</strong> <strong>Interfaces</strong><br />
PCI, PCI-Express, Compact PCI, Mini-PCI, Mini-PCI-Express, PCI 104 and<br />
on <strong>cifX</strong> <strong>Communication</strong> <strong>Interfaces</strong> PC/104. The firmware automatically<br />
detects whether it is running on a <strong>cifX</strong> <strong>Communication</strong> Interface PCI, PCI-<br />
Express, Compact PCI, Mini-PCI, Mini-PCI-Express, PCI 104 or on a <strong>cifX</strong><br />
<strong>Communication</strong> Interface PC/104.<br />
• Precedent <strong>cifX</strong> firmware is only applicable to <strong>cifX</strong> <strong>Communication</strong><br />
<strong>Interfaces</strong> PCI, PCI-Express, Compact PCI, Mini-PCI, Mini-PCI-Express,<br />
PCI 104.<br />
If a precedent <strong>cifX</strong> firmware (without PC/104 recognition) is loaded in<br />
a <strong>cifX</strong> <strong>Communication</strong> Interface PC/104, the <strong>cifX</strong> gets defective and<br />
must be sent to the service! For the <strong>cifX</strong> <strong>Communication</strong> <strong>Interfaces</strong><br />
PC/104 only <strong>cifX</strong> firmware from the minimum versions may be used as<br />
listed in Table 4: Reference on Firmware.<br />
Note: *The firmware for PROFINET IO Device V2 does not provide<br />
PC/104 recognition!<br />
