Getting Started cifX Communication Interfaces 55/274 4.3 Configuration of the Master Device The following table describes the steps on how to configure a cifX Communication Interface Real-Time Ethernet (Master) as it is typical for many cases. The cifX Communication Interface (Master) can be configured using the corresponding DTM in the configuration software SYCON.net. # Step Description For detailed information see section 1 Installing cifX Device Driver 2 DMA Mode in the cifX Device Driver Setup 3 OR Download Firmware and Configuration, Diagnosis, I/O Data Windows ® recognizes a new hardware and requires the device driver, which is on the cifX DVD. Enter the cifX DVD in the PC and follow to the instructions of the installation wizard, to install the driver. Activate the DMA Mode in the cifX Device Driver Setup. (b) using SYCON.net Possibly use the corresponding DTM in the configuration software SYCON.net. 3.1 Installing SYCON.net Run the SYCON.net-Setup and follow to the instructions of the installation wizard. 3.2 Firmware Download - Start configuration software SYCON.net, -Create new project /Open existing project, - Insert Master into configuration, - Select driver and assign device. - Select and download the firmware. 3.3 Configuration cifX (Master) 3.4 Download Configuration -Configure the cifX Communication Interface Real-Time Ethernet (Master). - Download the configuration to the cifX (Master) *. (*EtherCAT-Master, EtherNet/IP-Scanner (Master), PROFINET IO-Controller (Master), SERCOS III-Master) 3.5 Diagnostic - Rightclick on device symbol. - Select context menu entry Diagnosis, - then select Diagnosis > General, Firmware or Master Diagnosis, - or select Diagnosis > Extended Diagnosis. 3.6 I/O Monitor - Rightclick on device symbol. - Select context menu entry Diagnosis, - then Tools > IO Monitor. -Check the input or output data.
