Chapter 12 Setting Up & Using the VSP Interface
To obtain back-dated authorizations
On the VSP member’s Patient Demographic window (Insurance tab), click the
VSP button and select Back-dated Authorization; or, in the Appointment
Details window, click the VSP button, select Back-dated Authorization, and
click OK to view or print the VSP member’s authorization information.
The VSP Authorization window opens.
Type or select the date of the authorization in the Date box and click OK.
The Select Benefit/Service window opens.
Select a benefit from the Benefit drop-down menu.
A list of services is displayed in the Service box.
If you only want to obtain authorization for a specific service or group of
services (split authorization), select them from the Service box and click OK;
otherwise, click OK to obtain authorization for all of the services listed for the
benefit you selected.
