had a great interest in people. Her hus
Raymond Wilson, Executive Secretary
of the Friends Committee on National
KANSAS CITY
Doctor G. M. Robb was installed pas
tor of the Kansas City congregation
February 24, at 7:30 p.m. The message
of the evening was brought by Rev. R.
W. Caskey of Winchester; the address
to the pastor by Dr. F. L. Stewart of
Olathe. The queries were put by Dr.
Huston of Winchester and the message
to the congregation by Elder Henry Faris
of Dension. Thus, a new epoch begins
in the history of the Kansas City con
gregation.
A reception was given for Dr. and
Mrs. Robb, February 10, at the church.
Although it was a near zero windy night,
hazardous driving, all went well. A
portion of the 148th Psalm was sung
then prayer after which sweet little
Margie Weimer came with a speech:
"She was only a litle girl but she wanted
to welcome the Robbs." Dr. R. P.
Wright, gave the congregational wel
come.
"Howdy" came from the Juniors:
Pamela Burke, presented a corsage to
Mrs. Robb and John Ward gave Dr.
Robb, a boutonniere. Welcome to Mid-
L. Stewart. The Intermediate Choir sang
"Banner Rev. J. Roy Smith,
gave her little speech, "We Must
Scratch," she stepped forward, to give
Dr. Robb a little rake and with much
emphasis
told him to just make us,
"Scratch, Scratch, Scratch." To all this
Dr. and Mrs. Robb responded graciously.
A reception line formed and members
and friends of the congregation greeted
Dr. and Mrs. Robb. The folding doors.to
the adjoining
room were thrown open
and there was a beautifully bedecked
table, glistening silver service and large
silver trays laden with dainty sand
wiches and tea cakes. Mrs. Paul Wright
sat at one end and Mrs. Benton Duffett
at the other end, ready to pour. All was
done in serving with so much ease and
precision that Mrs. Frank Stewart want
ed to see who was behind the gun
and there in an adjoining room was Mrs.
J. T. Humphries and her committee.
Mrs. Humphries brought so much from
her home that her husband Jim just
had to take the morning off to get her
over to the church early that stormy
day.
We are happy to have Dr. Robb as
our pastor and will do all we can to
help him to go forward here in Kansas
City in work for the Master.
