Highlights of the Annual meeting of
the Women's Missionary Society held
March 29 included a most interesting
account by Miss Shirley Stephen, a
Philadelphia school teacher, of her ex
periences in Kuwait, Arabia,
where she
had been called to teach the children
of a Prince. She wore the woman's
gown and veil compulsory in that Mos
lem country and her charming humor
ous anecdotes were illustrated by beau
tiful slides. Surprise visitors at this
meeting were Dr. and Mrs. Robert
the challenging devotional message giv
Two of our older and well-beloved
women had birthday anniversaries in
March. Sabbath, March 12, found Mrs.
Finley M. Wilson, smilingly receiving
the good wishes of her friends. We
thank our Lord and Saviour for this
beautiful radiant life
she is an inspira
tion in fortitude and courage, and ever
challenges us to a more consecrated
and devoted Christian life. Mrs. Frank
Masterson, an out-of-bounds member
living in Wildwood, New Jersey, was the
recipient of our good wishes, via U.S.
Postal Service. Passing
her 80th mile
stone several years ago, she is ever ac
tive in her home and always eager to
testify to our Lord's goodness and care
and love. Prayers have gone to His
Throne of Grace for the recovery of
Mrs. D. Arthur Adams, long absent
from God's house because of illness.
OPEN LETTER
An open letter to the Covenanter
supporters of the National Reform As
sociation :
Please do not be disturbed if you
receive an Appeal letter from the Na
tional Reform Association and you have
already contributed within the past year
to our work.
The explanation is that the Appeal
letters which we send out three times
a year, go to all contributors whose
names are in our files and who are
not shown to have contributed within
the past year to our work. Several con
gregations send their annual offering
either to our office directly, or to Mr.
Fox, without including the names of
individual contributors, many of whose
names are in our files. Consequently,
when our secretary sends out the Ap
peal letters, she may, without being a-
ware of it, be sending to many Cove
nanters who have already made their
contribution for the current year
through the congregational offering.
If you are one of these, we want you
to understand that we do not expect
you to respond to the Appeal letter un
less you feel you would like to make
further contribution.
However, if you would like to have
your record in our files up to date, we
would appreciate it very much if you
would send us a statement of the ap
proximate date the contribution
made and the amount.
was
Since these Appeal letters go out over
my signature I thought this explanation
should be made.
Sincerely,
J. Renwick Patterson,
Executive Secretary.
