VN85-1427 – A PROMISING SUGARCANE VARIETY FOR PRODUCTION
IN DROUGHTY ECOLOGICAL REGIONS

Sugarcane variety VN85-1427 was admitted for test production in provinces of
Southern Vietnam in the year 2000 and was carried out test production in droughty
ecological regions such as Highland Tay Nguyen, South-east from January 2003 to
December 2005.
The results of test production indicated that VN85-1427 proved adaptable for
droughty ecological regions, especially in high-intensive farming, it developed to a
high degree about potential of yield and quality and brought producers high economic
effect. Therefore VN84-422 has been being in the process of acknowledgment of new
sugarcane variety and production expansion on a large scale.
