Deming wheel (PDCA)
Purpose
A management concept suggested by Deming to satisfy the quality
requirements of the customer by using the cycle: plan, do, check and
action.
When to use
For the development of a new product based on the requirements of the
customer.
How to use
Develop teamwork between the company's various functions, i.e. product
development, manufacturing, sales and market research. Use the plan (P),
do (D), check (C) and action (A) cycle as shown in Figure 1. Discuss
details of each stage of the cycle. The cycle, or wheel, must be constantly
rotating.
