Living with father an average <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> 11.9 years;<br />

Have an average <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> three to four siblings; the abuser is the firstor<br />

sec<strong>on</strong>d-born child;<br />

Twenty-five percent <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> inhalant abusers have a deviant mother, and<br />

25-30 percent have a deviant father (deviant is defined as suicidal,<br />

mentally ill, or alcoholic);<br />

School performance included frequent failure or repeated class<br />

(60 percent while in elementary school), and <strong>on</strong>ly 40 percent<br />

graduated from elementary school;<br />

Short-term frequent users (38.5 percent) were mainly unskilled<br />

workers;<br />

L<strong>on</strong>g-term frequent users (31.4 percent) also were mainly unskilled<br />

workers or never worked;<br />

Seldom users (30 percent) mainly never worked;<br />

Have an average <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> at least five drug user friends;<br />

Had first sexual experience at age 14;<br />
