people live closely related to each other, it is quite difficult to c<strong>on</strong>tact<br />

pers<strong>on</strong>s and c<strong>on</strong>duct followup research.<br />

Table 5 shows the clients’ occupati<strong>on</strong>al status at the time <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the followup<br />

interview. Twenty-six subjects were employed, five were jobless, four<br />

were attending school, five were housewives, and two were in a<br />

reformatory or in a pris<strong>on</strong>. As to substance abuse during the year<br />

preceding the followup interview, six subjects admitted solvent<br />

inhalati<strong>on</strong>. All were male, and five were in their late teens. The<br />

frequency <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> inhalati<strong>on</strong> was daily in <strong>on</strong>e case, several times a m<strong>on</strong>th in<br />

three cases, and indefinite in two cases. Methamphetamine abuse was<br />

observed in three cases, but there were no problems recorded with<br />

narcotics, hypnotics, or marijuana. Table 6 shows the overall social<br />

adjustment, which was evaluated at three grades: (1) good, where no<br />

problems were observed in any social area; (2) relatively poor, where<br />

unstable factors such as absence from <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>fice or school or frequent<br />

occupati<strong>on</strong>al changes were observed; and (3) poor, where there was poor<br />
