4.14 CONCLUSION<br />

2-Indolinone derivatives have recently been established as an anti<br />

cancer compounds and more specifically as tyrosine kinase inhibitors<br />

(SU5416, SU5614, SU6668, SU6597, SU6663 and SU6561) that block kit<br />

activation and growth of small cell in lung cancer. Moreover Virsodia et. al. a<br />

reported the anticancer evaluation results of the arylidine products of 1-(2, 6dichlorophenyl)-2-indolinone.<br />

Biological importance of such scaffolds inspired<br />

us to prepare new indolinone derivatives and to carry out their anticancer<br />

evaluation.<br />

4-hydroxycoumarin is a versatile scaffold and is being consistently<br />

used as a building block in organic chemistry as well as in heterocyclic<br />

chemistry for the synthesis of different heterocycles. The synthetic versatility<br />

of 4-hydroxycoumarin has led to the extensive use of this compound in<br />

organic synthesis. 4-hydroxy coumarin shows diversified chemical reactivity<br />

and biological profile. Thus it was of interest to study the biological activities of<br />

newly synthesized coumarin derivatives.<br />
