The major difference over the standard command AT+CMGL is that the status of the listed messages remains unchanged (unread remains unread). Notes • The selected can contain different types of SMs (e.g. SMS-DELIVERs, SMS-SUBMITs, SMS-STA- • TUS-REPORTs and SMS-COMMANDs), the response may be a mix of the responses of different SM types. TE application can recognize the response format by examining the third response parameter. This command can be used only after the SMS data from the SIM have been read successfully for the first time. Reading starts after successful SIM authentication has been performed, and may take up to 30 seconds depending on the SIM used.
