Classrooms and how they felt about the doors. Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Cabello<br />
stated they did not have any dutch doors in district facilities. <strong>The</strong> only concern<br />
they had with installation <strong>of</strong> dutch doors would be corridor noise polluting the<br />
classroom.<br />
• Mr. Sibille asked about interior windows from the classroom to the corridor.<br />
NESID does not provide these as they feel the large full door length side lite<br />
next to each classroom door is a sufficient visual connection to the corridor.<br />
<strong>The</strong>y also prefer to utilize the wall space <strong>for</strong> the media cabinet and felt it might<br />
cause a distraction <strong>for</strong> the students.<br />
• Mr. Sullivan provided FPC with a list <strong>of</strong> the standard sizes they used <strong>for</strong><br />
program design <strong>of</strong> the Vineyard school which included a 3,600 asf gymnasium.<br />
• Mr. Sullivan provided FPC with a view preferred materials and vendors /<br />
installers they utilize in the construction <strong>of</strong> new NEISD schools on a regular<br />
basis:<br />
• Resilient sports flooring called Gerflor by Vector Concepts<br />
• Playgrounds by Miracle Playscapes – <strong>The</strong>y have a standard <strong>for</strong> upper<br />
grades 3-5 and lower grades <strong>Pre</strong>-K – 2. Contact is Ahearns<br />
• Austin Sign Resources provides all classroom and way finding signage.<br />
Representative is Maryann Koons.<br />
• Mr. Cabello said he would provide us (FPC) with the in<strong>for</strong>mation necessary to<br />
contact Mr. Tom Johnson, the NEISD Technology Senior Director to set-up or<br />
answer questions <strong>for</strong> the <strong>City</strong>’s ITSD department in regards to school<br />
technology.<br />
