This space will serve as the first point <strong>of</strong> interaction <strong>for</strong> the<br />

students, faculty and guests visiting the Center. In addition to<br />

serving as an in<strong>for</strong>mation station, the Receptionist housed in<br />

this area will serve as a secure, controlled access point <strong>for</strong> anyone<br />

entering the facility.<br />

regarding additional design requirements <strong>of</strong> this space which<br />

may not be listed here.<br />

2. Provide vestibule at building entry to Lobby to maintain airlock<br />

and reduce impact from outside environment. Entry<br />

doors to space shall be provided with secure (i.e. key card)<br />

access.<br />

3. Consideration should be given to the utilization <strong>of</strong> a glass<br />

storefront to increase visibility into this space. Space should be<br />

inviting to guests but maintain a pr<strong>of</strong>essional atmosphere.<br />

Coordinate number and location with User.<br />

7. Provide adequate power to computer workstation to operate<br />

equipment; coordinate with workstation location. Convenience<br />

duplex power outlets shall be provided along the<br />

perimeter walls at regular intervals, in accordance with<br />

Code. When locating power and data outlets, pay special<br />

attention to the possible location <strong>of</strong> equipment and furniture.<br />

8. Provide 50 to 55 fc <strong>for</strong> general illumination. Lighting controls<br />

shall be located in close proximity to the entry door. Provide<br />

windows with blinds or shades to control natural light.<br />
