3. Operable pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) motion activated security cameras<br />

shall be installed at all building entrances. Additional cameras shall<br />

be located in corridors, within vehicle parking lots and at outdoor<br />

play areas as directed by ITSD. Recorded data should be stored<br />

on-site on DVRs located in server racks located in the MDF Room.<br />

This in<strong>for</strong>mation should be remotely accessible from central operations<br />

at Frio Street.<br />

4. Provide controlled security access system (i.e. key cards or card<br />

reader) at all building entrances, MDF/IDF rooms (network closets)<br />

and as directed per the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>San</strong> <strong>Antonio</strong> Standards. All<br />

remaining interior doors shall utilize a traditional key-lock system,<br />

unless noted otherwise. Consideration to be given to installation<br />

<strong>of</strong> a visual intercom system (ie. Aiphone or similar) at main entry<br />

which will allow <strong>for</strong> Receptionist to view guest and control access<br />

to the building.<br />

5. A panic button / alarm to be located and operated from Receptionist<br />

workstation in primary building Lobby / Reception and Childcare<br />

Center Administration Suite was not desired by the users at the<br />

time <strong>of</strong> publication <strong>of</strong> this report.<br />

6. Provide audio public address system with capability <strong>for</strong> zoned<br />

address (i.e. instructional areas, outdoor play areas, etc.) or overall<br />

building communication. System to be operable from Childcare<br />

Center Administration Suite. Provide intercom system in classroom<br />

which allows instructor to paige a nurse or administrative staff in<br />

case <strong>of</strong> emergency.<br />

7. Convenience power and data outlets shall be provided along the<br />

perimeter walls, in accordance with all current applicable codes.<br />

When locating outlets, special attention should be paid to the<br />

possible location <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice equipment and furniture.<br />

8. Provide adequate power and data outlets, as required, to serve<br />

equipment in all instructional spaces.<br />

9. All lighting shall have motion sensors. <strong>The</strong> following levels <strong>of</strong> illumination<br />

shall be provided:<br />

50 to 55 footcandle (fc) <strong>for</strong> general illumination<br />

■■<br />

20 fc at writing surfaces during projection <strong>for</strong> note-taking<br />

10. Spaces which require / utilize projection equipment, such as classrooms<br />

and conference / training rooms, shall be designed as follows:<br />

Where a ceiling-mounted projector is designated, an electrical<br />

outlet shall be located at the ceiling. Outlet location to be<br />

coordinated with projector location.<br />
