NOTES<br />

1. Reference “Code and Standards” chapter <strong>for</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />

regarding additional design requirements <strong>of</strong> this space<br />

which may not be listed here.<br />

2. This space should be located accessible from or adjacent to<br />

the main building entry Lobby / Reception Area to limit<br />

public accessibility to other parts <strong>of</strong> the building where children<br />

are located.<br />

3. Provide vision lite in entry door <strong>for</strong> visual access from the<br />

building corridors or adjacent spaces. Entry door to space<br />

shall be provided with keyed lock. Locate doors within<br />

space to minimize congestion.<br />

4. Provide windows from corridor into space to allow <strong>for</strong><br />

monitoring <strong>of</strong> space from corridor.<br />

5. Provide (2) 2-port data outlets (min.) on two perimeter<br />

walls. Provide (1) 2-port data outlet and (1) telephone outlet<br />

(min.) to workstations; coordinate with workstation locations.<br />

Provide data to support (8) computer workstations<br />

<strong>for</strong> visitor use. Building shall be equipped with wireless technology<br />

and infrastructure.<br />

6. Verify type <strong>of</strong> power requirements <strong>for</strong> specific copy machine<br />

and equipment; a dedicated circuit and data port may be<br />

required <strong>for</strong> copier.<br />

7. Provide adequate power to computer workstations to operate<br />

equipment; coordinate with workstation locations. Convenience<br />

duplex power outlets shall be provided along the<br />

perimeter walls at regular intervals, in accordance with<br />

Code. When locating power and data outlets, pay special<br />

attention to the possible location <strong>of</strong> equipment and<br />

furniture.<br />

8. Provide 50 to 55 footcandle (fc) <strong>for</strong> general illumination.<br />

Lighting shall have motion sensors; controls shall be located<br />

within close proximity to the entry door. Natural light into<br />

the space is desired. Windows shall be provided with blinds<br />

or shades to control natural light.<br />
