19.5.1 Legacy scheme<br />

<strong>The</strong> Legacy scheme will have as the first characters the the <strong>City</strong> building code. <strong>The</strong> building<br />

code is a series <strong>of</strong> alpha numeric characters that indicate the individual building. <strong>The</strong> second<br />

set <strong>of</strong> characters, separated by a hyphen, will be a series <strong>of</strong> digits that indicate the outlet<br />

number. <strong>The</strong> numbers will have three places with leading zeros as place holders <strong>for</strong> numbers<br />

less than three digits.<br />

19.5.2 Hierarchical scheme<br />

<strong>The</strong> Hierarchical scheme will have three series <strong>of</strong> characters. <strong>The</strong> first series is the the <strong>City</strong><br />

building code. <strong>The</strong> building code is a series <strong>of</strong> alpha numeric characters that indicate the<br />

individual building. <strong>The</strong> second set <strong>of</strong> characters, separated by a hyphen, will be the floor<br />

number, followed by the room (MDF/IDF) number. <strong>The</strong> third series indicate the rack, patch<br />

panel, and patch panel port number.<br />
