EDHP 3210 Motor Development & Motr Learn<br />

3 cr.<br />

Prerequisite: EDHP 2110 or consent <strong>of</strong> department. A study <strong>of</strong> the<br />

foundations <strong>of</strong> physical growth and development. The course<br />

focuses upon the emergence <strong>of</strong> motor patterns and skills as a result<br />

<strong>of</strong> growth, maturation, and learning during the period <strong>of</strong> infancy<br />

through adolescence.<br />

EDHP 3217 Psych Aspect Sport & Exercise<br />

3 cr.<br />

Prerequisites: EDHP 2110 or consent <strong>of</strong> department. An introduction<br />

and overview <strong>of</strong> the psychological aspects <strong>of</strong> sport and exercise.<br />

Motivation, arousal/anxiety, cooperation/competition, group<br />

and team dynamics, leadership, exercise adherence, psychological<br />

skills development, and prosocial development through sport will<br />

be discussed within their theoretical frameworks and emphasizing<br />

practical application.<br />

EDHP 3330 Exercise Physiol Lab Methods<br />

3 cr.<br />

Prerequisites: BIOS 1301, 1303, 1311, 1313; EDHP 2110, MATH 1115 and<br />

1116 or MATH 1125 or 1126 or consent <strong>of</strong> department. This course<br />

is designed to expose students to exercise physiology laboratory<br />

methods while developing physical fitness assessment and evaluation<br />

skills.<br />

EDHP 3470 Intramrl Sports & Officiating<br />

2 cr.<br />

Spring semester. Prerequisites: EDHP 2110 or consent <strong>of</strong> department.<br />

A study <strong>of</strong> problems in the organization and administration <strong>of</strong><br />

intramural sports and <strong>of</strong>ficiating techniques <strong>of</strong> selected major and<br />

minor sports. One hour <strong>of</strong> lecture and two hours <strong>of</strong> laboratory.<br />

EDHP 4222 Physical Fitness Programming<br />

3 cr.<br />

Prerequisite: EDHP 3201 or 6220 or 6402 or consent <strong>of</strong> department.<br />

Provides skills for physical fitness programming in schools, hospitals,<br />

and fitness centers. Training will emphasize techniques used<br />

for implementing an individualized exercise program as well as<br />

strategies for behavior change.<br />

Focuses on the theoretical and research issues a sports marketer<br />

confronts. The four P’s <strong>of</strong> product, price, promotion, and<br />

place within the uniqueness <strong>of</strong> sport and exercise marketing are<br />

featured.<br />
