EDLS 6990 Ind Study in Library Science<br />
1-3 cr.<br />
Prerequisites: advanced graduate standing and consent <strong>of</strong> department<br />
and major pr<strong>of</strong>essor. Investigation <strong>of</strong> pertinent problems<br />
under the direction <strong>of</strong> a graduate faculty member. This course may<br />
be repeated but total credit may not exceed six semester hours. Section<br />
number will correspond with credit to be earned.<br />
EDLS 6995 Practicum in Library Science<br />
3 cr.<br />
Prerequisite: completion <strong>of</strong> all other courses the certification program<br />
requires, and consent <strong>of</strong> the department. The practicum is<br />
designed to provide the student with an opportunity to acquire<br />
and apply competencies essential for effective librarianship in a<br />
school’s instructional program. The student will be assigned to a<br />
school library media center for a total <strong>of</strong> 120 hours during one<br />
semester, where the student will participate in on-the-job experiences<br />
in provision and administration <strong>of</strong> all library services and<br />
programs, and in pr<strong>of</strong>essional activities. This course may not be<br />
scheduled concurrently with student teaching.<br />

1 cr.<br />
Prerequisite: Enrollment in Tier III <strong>of</strong> teacher education program<br />
and completion or concurrent enrollment in EDSP 3640 and 3641.<br />
A required field-based assessment that supports teacher candidates<br />
seeking special education certification in developing evidence sets<br />
aligned with pr<strong>of</strong>essional standards. Candidates must spend two<br />
hours weekly in school settings to implement required field activities.<br />
Candidate field work will generate artifacts to document performance<br />
<strong>of</strong> required competencies.<br />
EDSP 3610 Methds Teach Stu with M/M Dis<br />
2 cr.<br />
Prerequisite: EDUC 2000 and Admission to Tier II. Must be taken<br />
concurrently with EDSP 3611, the field experience course. Study and<br />
application <strong>of</strong> recommended practices related to curriculum development,<br />
assessment, teaching strategies, instructional materials,<br />
collaboration, advocacy, and pr<strong>of</strong>essionalism in special education.<br />

1 cr.<br />
Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in EDSP 3610. This is a required<br />
one-credit-hour Field Experience that supports candidates in applying<br />
the content <strong>of</strong> EDSP 3610 within the classroom. Candidates must<br />
spend two hours weekly in school settings to implement required<br />
field activities. Candidate field work will generate artifacts to document<br />
performance <strong>of</strong> required competencies.<br />

language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies to students<br />

one-credit hour Field Experience that supports candidates in applying<br />

<strong>of</strong> the course is on designing and assessing materials to meet the<br />
individual educational needs <strong>of</strong> individuals with mild moderate<br />

transition planning, for secondary students with mild-moderate<br />

The study <strong>of</strong> and use <strong>of</strong> behavior modification techniques in applied<br />
settings. In conjunction with coursework students must complete a<br />
