Prerequisite: MANG 3401 FIN 3301 and senior standing or consent<br />

<strong>of</strong> the department. Concepts and analytical techniques for dealing<br />

with the opportunities and issues in harvesting the entrepreneurial<br />

company. The importance <strong>of</strong> building a sound company and<br />

thereby creating harvest options for the owner, such as merger,<br />

acquisition, going public, forming alliances, and selling out. Other<br />

topics include: turning around the troubled company, intrapreneurship,<br />

and choosing a successor. Cases, videotapes, readings, guest lectures<br />

3 cr.<br />

A survey <strong>of</strong> basic management topics in organization behavior,<br />

management information systems, and operations management.<br />

Provides an introduction to fundamental management concepts<br />

for pre-MBA students who have not had prior coursework in these<br />

areas. Not open to undergraduate College <strong>of</strong> Business majors. May<br />

not be taken for graduate credit.<br />

MANG 4401 Topics Business Communication<br />

3 cr.<br />

A course designed for MBA students to improve their writing,<br />

speaking, and computer skills. Emphasis will be placed on the composition,<br />

preparation, and presentation <strong>of</strong> written reports and oral<br />

presentations. Computers will be used to research, design, and output<br />

both written reports and oral presentations. This course is not<br />

open to undergraduate students in the College <strong>of</strong> Business Administration<br />

and may not be taken for graduate credit.<br />

MANG 4402 Research Methodology in Mgmt<br />

3 cr.<br />

Prerequisite: MANG 3402. Background and understanding <strong>of</strong> research<br />

methodology and management. Interpretation <strong>of</strong> research, experimental<br />

and quasi-experimental design, problems <strong>of</strong> generalizability,<br />

hypothesis testing, control, and techniques for collecting and<br />

analyzing data.<br />

Prerequisites: senior standing. May not receive graduate credit for<br />

both MANG 4710 and MANG 6710. Basic concepts involved with the<br />

management <strong>of</strong> technology in an organizational setting. Discussion<br />

<strong>of</strong> types <strong>of</strong> technologies, tactical and strategic impact <strong>of</strong> new organizational<br />

design considerations influenced by technology, fostering<br />

creativity and innovation in an organization, and technology/<br />

employee interface considerations. Text, readings, short case studies,<br />

videos, and guest speakers who are managers in technological<br />

environments are used as presentational media. Term project<br />

required.<br />
