full time teaching. Candidates complete a set <strong>of</strong> field experiences<br />

aligned with demonstrating the Louisiana Components <strong>of</strong> Effective<br />

Teaching. Candidates document their pr<strong>of</strong>essional development via<br />

an electronic pr<strong>of</strong>essional portfolio using artifacts resulting from<br />

the internship. This course is not available for graduate credit.<br />

opportunity to apply competencies essential for effective teaching<br />

and to assume the role <strong>of</strong> an educator within a total school<br />

program. The goal <strong>of</strong> student teaching is to have candidates operationalize<br />

the theory-practice interaction model while implementing,<br />

over an extended period <strong>of</strong> time, the principles, methods, and<br />

knowledge and materials acquired in previous coursework. Candidates<br />

seeking certification for grades 1-5 enroll in this course. Candidates<br />

also concurrently enroll in EDUC 4000, Meeting the Needs<br />

<strong>of</strong> All Learners (3 credit hours). The number <strong>of</strong> credit hours taken<br />

depends on the certification plan pursued. This course may not be<br />

taken for graduate credit.<br />
