Motor Control Contact Adjustment Procedure (Cont.)StepAction2 Motor-control contacts of a 24-32V machine should be open from 0.045 to0.060 inch when the related normal or reverse contact just makes.In a 110V machine, this opening may vary from 0.170 to 0.200 inch.Adjust the opening by loosening screw (2), lifting the adjuster tip out of itshole, and moving the contact (1) in or out, as required. Retain thisadjustment by setting the adjuster tip in a new hole and tightening thescrew.“3 Adjust the tip of the moveable contact so that there is 1/64 to 1/32” ofcontact wipe. If necessary, bend the tip down slightly to increase the contactwipe.NOTESince pressure of motor-control contacts is governed bycontact opening and coil spring design, there is no adjustment.4 Adjust tip of movable contact to get a 1/64 to 1/32 inch contact wipe.
