Theory of Operation2.5.9. Switch Machine WiringA built-in biased-neutral controller with dynamic snubbing is furnished in Model 5G and5H switch machines. This controller provides for two-wire polarized control, eithernormally energized or de-energized. Overload protection is self-contained. All components are housed in an aluminum case provided with a terminal board.See Figure 2–34.Extra-heavy-duty snub and contactor contacts have permanent magnets that help toblow out the arc that occurs when the motor contacts open.
