Hand-Power Lever TestHand-power levers are components of the Model <strong>5F</strong> and <strong>5H</strong> <strong>Switch</strong> <strong>Machines</strong> only.Check mode-selector lever contact in dual-control machines as follows:Table 4–24. Hand-Power Lever TestStepAction1 Place mode-selector lever in HAND position. Hand-throw switch machineusing hand-throw lever.2 Place mode-selector lever in vertical position.3 Hand-crank switch machine until hand-throw lever starts to rise out of latchstand. At this point, notice clutch sleeve is nearly engaged in clutch gear aswell as main gear.4 Oscillate hand crank back and forth while moving mode-selector levertoward POWER position.5 When hand-throw lever stops rising in latch stand, stop hand-cranking andhold mode-selector lever in that position. At this point, notice clutch sleevejust disengages from clutch gear.6 Measure selector-lever contact opening - it should be at least 1/16-inch. Ifnot, bend contact to produce desired opening.7 Place mode-selector lever in POWER position.8 Check mode-selector lever contact makes at least 3/16-inch contact.
