General Description1.5.2. Proper Attire1. Wear hard hats at all times.2. Wear only leather work shoes that are not worn-out and are in good repair.Sneakers or tennis shoes are unsafe.3. Wear clothing of proper fit. Loose fitting clothing is a hazard.4. Avoid wearing belt type key rings, and never carry tools in hip pockets.1.5.3. Train Control Room (TCR) WorkAll personnel working in the TCR areas shall observe the following outlined safetyprecautions.1. Assume busses are energized.2. Use proper size fuse pullers for inserting and replacing cartridge type fuses. Do notsubstitute hand tools for fuse pullers.3. Do not use frayed or worn extension cords. All extension lights must have aprotective cover over the bulb.4. Use extension cords of the three-wire type. If a two-pronged adapter is used, it musthave a ground wire attached to a known ground.5. Use proper socket wrenches (AAR type) when working on entrance racks or rackswith AAR terminals. Do not use open end or adjustable wrenches.1.5.4. General Safety on Property1. Never go out on a track of an operating railroad alone. Flagmen familiar withoperating procedures and safety regulations should accompany all field maintenancepersonnel for maximum safety.2.
