Corrective Maintenance6.6.2. <strong>Electric</strong>al Test ProcedurePerform the following test procedure in the sequence given.Table 6–48. <strong>Electric</strong>al Test ProcedureStepAction1 Remove the guards and connect the test bar and coupling to the switchmachine throw bar, lock rod and point detector rod.2 Adjust the nuts on the lock rod and point detector rod to provide properoperation of the point detector when the throw bar is moved to the extremepositions.3 CAUTIONEquipment damage may result from unexpected motor overrunif the friction clutch is not adjusted for minimum operatingtorque.WARNINGUSE CAUTION WHEN WORKING WITH THE ELECTRICALENERGY DESCRIBED IN THESE PROCEDURES. FAILURETO DO SO CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.<strong>Electric</strong>ally operate the switch machine by applying electrical energy to theswitch machine terminals, to provide throw bar movement left and right asobserved from the motor end of the machine. Refer to wiring diagram Figure2–34 for wiring information.4 Verify that the throw bar movement and the point detector turns off themotor at the end of each throw bar stroke.5 Remove the test bar coupling unit and secure the covers and guards to theswitch machine.P1293, Rev.
