Corrective Maintenance6.4.1. <strong>Switch</strong> MachineTo disassemble and assemble the switch machine, perform the following procedure inthe sequence provided. Table 6–2 provides references for the disassembly andassembly of specific components.Table 6–7. <strong>Switch</strong> Machine Disassembly and Assembly ProcedureStepActionDisassembly is covered in steps 1 through 39.1 Release the tension on the hasp strap (1).Remove the strap from the covers.2 Loosen and remove the dowel screw and washer holding the hasp bracketto the frame.Remove the bracket.3 Remove the gear compartment cover by lifting the cover straight up and off.4 Remove the contact compartment cover by lifting the cover straight up andoff.5 Remove the gasket from the inside cover, using needle nose pliers, if thegasket is deteriorated6 Scrape the gasket residue from the groove and apply 3M Scotch-GripRubber And Gasket Adhesive 847 to the groove.7 Seat the new gasket properly in the groove.
