Changing Over Procedure For One Lock And One Point-Detector Rod,Right- Or Left-Hand (RH Or LH) Single Switch (Cont.)StepAction8 CAUTIONWhen removing or installing detector rods it is important to firstlift the point detector movement yoke and rollers up.Use a small pry bar (StanleyProto #2130 16” Rolling Head Bar isrecommended) to lift the point detector movement yoke up. Using the switchmachine lock rod to support the bottom of the pry bar, lift the extension ofthe center yoke that extends over the lock rod as illustrated.9 Pull the point-detector rod as a unit out of one side of machine and insert itinto opposite side.When installing the detector rod be sure that the rod is aligned below therollers and does not catch the edge of the spacer adjacent to the rollers.CAUTIONSlide the rod by hand. Never tap the end of the rod with ahammer to force it to slide. Failure to lift the center yoke androllers before sliding the rod, or applying unnecessary forcewith a hammer can cause damage to the roller support pins oryoke casting.10 Replace lug and lock and adjust nuts on the solid-through point-detectorrod.P1293, Rev.
