6 God’s Workthe sons of God, even to them that believe on hisname: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor ofthe will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but ofGod. 14 And The Word was made flesh, and dweltamong us (and we beheld his glory, the glory asof the only begotten of the Father) full of graceand truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried,saying, This was he of whom I spoke, He thatcometh after me is preferred before me: for hewas before me.The Apostle John states, “ 1 In the beginning was The Word andThe Word was with God, and The Word was God.” What doyou know about The Word at this point? This verse reveals TheWord was from the beginning; and this “word” was also withGod, but this “word” was also God. It does not say this “word”was another being. Since God is “One” (I Timothy 2:5), the bestnotion that anyone can state about this “word,” is that it is an elementof God, Himself. This is what The Bible tells you. “ 3 Allthings were made by him ...” All things were created by God,for that is what the word has performed. This element of God,the word, has the power to create. This “word” has within it thepower to produce life. Consequently, The Word of God can bedefined as the very “words” from God, The Father. This “word”was put into Christ at His birth (Deuteronomy 18:18).John, The Baptist, states that he “ 8 was sent to bear witness ofthat Light.” John tells you that he, himself, is not that Light, butrather, that Light was sent from God (The Word), which was theLight. So, The Word of God was in the beginning. “The word”also created everything, had the power to give Life and was theLight (truth) of the world. Above all, The Word was God - notanother being. Up to this point, this is all that anyone knows
