410 God’s WorkJohn wrote his Epistle nearly forty years after this time period inabout 90-95 a.d. But “true Christians” had already been affectedand were falling away only 40 years after Jesus ascended intoheaven. Why was this? John explains all this in I John 2:18-19.In his day - 95 A.D. - John states it was already the last time. Inthe Greek language, the “last time,” is the “end-time” and later itis applied to “The Return of Christ.” All that was needed was forthe man of sin or the anti-Christ to be revealed. Then, Christwould come shortly after that, to defeat this enemy completelyunder Satan’s control. Until all of this occurs, JESUS WILL NOTRETURN. Paul gives one more condition before Christ’s return. In Romans 11:25, he describes how “the end-time” will not happenuntil the fullness of The Gentiles occurs. The fullness of TheGentiles refers to the time when God is finished calling all TheGentiles to the truth. No one but God, The Father knows that time. This applies toeveryone, including Jesus, Himself (Acts 1:6-7). The decisionabout when Jesus is to come again is completely within the powerof God, The Father. It is amazing that anti-Christs were alreadyappearing and swaying True Christians in John’s day (Verse 18).John said these days were “the last days” or “the end-time” -why? Those days and these days were the beginning of the lastdays because Christians were falling away from the truth andthe anti-Christs were already doing their deceiving in John’stime. ONLY TWO MORE EVENTS MUST TAKE PLACE FORCHRIST TO RETURN. They are as follows:1 This “Man of Sin,” the anti-Christ, must berevealed.2 All Gentiles who God intends to call to “thechurch” must understand the truth.
