In this case, the twowords “human nature” literally means, “the needs and deeds ofthe human body.” Going further in this line of thought, you mustconsider reproduction, food, life, preservation and pain. God hasproduced all these elements in you, because you are temporary.After baptism, you are drawn to seek totally different viewpoints.Christ said:21From within, out of the heart of men, proceedevil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders.22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit,lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride,foolishness: 23 All these evil things come fromwithin, and defile the man (Mark 7:21-23).Jesus knew as long as you were seeing things from a humanperspective, you would, in most cases, come to the wrongconclusions. This is because of the human trait of placing selfpreservationfirst.Separating Repentance And BaptismJohn separates the two subjects of repentance and baptism. Johnproclaims, “…but he [Christ] that cometh after me is mightierthan I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptizeyou…” (Matthew 3:11). The question is, “Should you put yourhuman flesh to death because you are a sinner?” However, Heis still going to baptize you - but with what?
