Can Christians Lose Their Salvation?163Jubilee YearThe Jubilee Year is the one Holy Day, which lasts a full year. TheJubilee comes every fifty years. The basis for it is the fulfillmentof “The Seven Land Sabbaths.” Israel was to count seven timesor seven sets of years (forty-nine years) and then The FiftiethYear becomes The Year of Jubilee (Leviticus 25:8-9). This wasa unique period. It was designated to be the time of release fromservitude and release from debt. In like manner, Christ redeemsthe church (everyone) before The Jubilee, which is symbolizedby The Wedding Feast. It is stated that everyone must return to his own family land or hisown inheritance (Leviticus 25:10). If the person or the familyland has been sold, then the land must be returned to the originalowners. This was the land that God had given to The Israelitesas an “inheritance.” So The Jubilee was The Year of Liberty;when all debts (sins) were forgiven (Leviticus 25:11-16). This isamazing typology - especially when compared to The Ministryof Jesus. This Holy Year had a strong theme of “redemption.”Consider the example concerning Naomi’s land. Her husband haddied, and Boaz was buying it back into the family in order to continueNaomi’s husband’s inheritance. This was before a JubileeYear began, when all debts would have been released.Boaz was the redeemer of the land – just as Christ will redeemyou before The Jubilee (The Wedding Feast of Christ, The Groom).Jesus is The Husband of The Bride (the church) and Christ redeemseveryone before The Jubilee, now known as The WeddingFeast. When Jesus returns to conduct The Wedding Feast, Hesays that many are called to this feast - but few are chosen (canattend) (Matthew 22:14). Who is left out? To answer that question, read Romans 2:25-29:
