What Is The Ministry87as with a large family. That is their ministry. Those who are givenwisdom can encourage others to follow the right paths of living.Those who are possessed with knowledge can teach in variousdepartments of information or perhaps write “how-to” books. Everyonehas a ministry as servants (“diakonos”) which specificallybenefit others in The Entire Body of Christ. Then there are otherswho have gifts of Prayer, Healing, Miracles, Tongues, Prophecy,etc. Each gift is given to each member to perform their particularservice in their own ministry, which requires no officialtraining. God personally gave these gifts to each member to benefitall the others in The House of God. Now, examine the differencebetween the local church ministries which are led by TheFirstborn Elders and those preachers who proclaim The Gospelto the rest of the world as Evangelists, Prophets and Apostles.The Two Gospel MinistriesThe local church ministers of The Gospels who are Pastors (Bishops),Teachers (scribes) and Elders only perform the gifts thatGod has given them in their local church area. They are notassigned and/or transferred at the whim of a hierarchy, as canoccur with some Christian churches. A minister does not have arank over other ministers. Each ministry must be ready to helpanyone in the church whenever there is a need.Paul said “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submityourselves…” (Hebrews 13:17). Why is this? It is not becausethey have authority over anyone, but because “…they watchfor your souls [lives], as they that must give account…” (Hebrews13:17).
