Why did the soldier put a spear into Christ’s side? The Lawstates, “…the blood is the life…” (Deuteronomy 12:23). Therefore,by Christ’s blood (which was His life), all mankind’s sinsare forgiven. Why? This is because in John 15:13 Christ said,“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay downhis life for his friends.” Christ had to die for humanity’s sins.This was the ultimate gift of sacrificing for all of God’s createdbeings.Since “life” is in the blood, Jesus had to spill His blood for allof humanity. Why? To show His great love for you. As youhave seen there is no greater love. This was Godly “love” totallyself-sacrificing for your sins. That is why your sins are forgivenbecause Christ proved His love for the world (I John 4:14). However,once you repent and totally look to God, then you are readyfor baptism. Once baptized, your sins are forgiven. But howabout future sins?In Psalm 40:4-7, God said through David that God was not interestedin sacrifice, but that God prepared a body, the promisedseed, to be that sacrifice, once and for all. Jesus was appointed toa Priesthood, The Order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 8:1-13). Jesuswho sits on the right hand of The Father is your High Priest makingintercession for your future sins as well (Hebrews 9:22-28).This was all done by Christ’s sacrifice. This sacrifice, since Hesits on the right hand of God, The Father, intercedes for all futuresins. Christ died for your past sins by baptism, and also, for allfuture sins of humanity as long as you confess before Jesus as
