238 God’s Workof The Law cannot function together.1 In Hebrews 8, it describes The Old Covenant whichis based upon The Letter of The Law, which had tobe kept in its entirety (Matthew 23:23) was to vanishaway. This happened in 70 A.D. with the fall of thetemple. One cannot keep the entire Law withoutthe temple. Plain and simple. God ended thepossibility of keeping The Letter of The Law. Since The Letterof The Law was only a shadow or type, Paul said itwould vanish (Hebrews 8:13).3 Paul clarifies the big difference between The OldCovenant, The Law in The Letter compared to TheNew Covenant, The Law written in your heart andmind (Hebrews 10:1-18).If The Old Covenant, keeping The Law in The Letter, made peopleperfect, then there would no longer be a reason to keep offeringsacrifices when they broke The Letter of The Law (Hebrews10:2).
