At the end of time, this Roman systemwill be broken into pieces and the entire Gentile rule in the worldwill end. Then, God’s kingdom will take its rightful place onearth. Pontius Pilate represented that Roman government servingas judge over Jesus. But, as was seen, it wasn’t Jesus who wasreally on trial but all of mankind. So Christ stepped in, on everyone’sbehalf and paid humanity’s full penalty for all their sins.Christ took Christians’ place before Pilate by paying the full penaltyof all the sins of the world (I John 4:14). As “prince of thisworld,” this was Satan’s final attempt to accuse humanity for theirsins. Satan did his best to keep Jesus from being The Savior.But Christ remained faithful to glorify and show His Father’sgoodness in order to win over Satan and the final phase of TheRoman Empire.
