It means “a change of state.” It means“something changing;” so “metanoia” is “the metastasis” of something.It refers to something that is changing. “Metanoia” in thelexicon means “to repent,” “a change” or “alteration of mind.”So something happens to your mind when you “repent.” Itconcerns something which wasn’t there before. Now, to investigatethe root, “metaneo” which means “to repent, with regret,”accompanied by “a true change of heart.” The word “repent”means “a change of your mind” about how you think.” From thispoint on, you see things only from God’s mind.
