Real Repentance197Romans 8:8 states emphatically that you can’t please God.Examine this additional section of text:John 4:23-24 23 But the hour cometh, and nowis, when the true worshippers shall worship theFather in spirit and in truth: for the Father seekethsuch to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit, and theythat worship him must worship him in spirit andin truth.Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well, “ 23 But the hour comethand now is, when the true worshippers [false worshippersexist also] shall worship the Father in spirit [you can’t do it inThe Letter] and in truth…” So, you must worship The Father,first, spiritually, and then secondly, in truth, “…for the Fatherseeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they thatworship him must [not could, not should, but must] worship himin spirit and in truth.”This should be worship of God in “spirit” and not by any humaneffort. How do people get around it? First, the text says that Godonly seeks people to worship him in “spirit.” There is only oneway that God wants you to worship Him.
