When did Satan start to deceive The Church of God?It was right after Jesus defeated him. Christ, just before His crucifixion,told Peter that Satan wanted to sift Peter as wheat, butJesus prayed for him (Luke 22:31).It isn’t the people of the world that Satan is worried about, butthose who are becoming Sons of God. Satan is at war with Christianity(Revelation 12:17). Satan is fighting against Eve’s “promisedseed.” Satan fights against God’s “word” because Jesus said,Christians are to live “by every word that proceedeth out of themouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).Fighting The Evil OneHow are Christians able to fight against Satan? It is living byevery “word” of God found in The Holy Bible. Christians cannottrust any man. Paul said that every man’s work will be tested- including Paul’s own work. Paul said that whether it was Peter,Apollos or Paul himself, their work would be tried - whether ofgold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay or stubble. Every man’s“work” will be tested. But how? It will be by fire (I Corinthians3:3-15). What is a Christian’s defense? It is to be constantlystudying The Bible as The Bereans, “to see if these things be so”(Acts 17:11).
